The JACE HALL SHOW: LIONS Merge Electro/Dubstep with Bloody Asian Horror

Maybe Canadian dubstep-inspired electronic rock is to U.S. dubstep-inspired electronic rock, what Canadian prog rock is to American prog rock. Maybe just more ‘progressive,’ in general, or pushing the envelope, is the best way to sum up Toronto’s LIONS.

Take ‘ZOMBiAC’, LIONS’ stunning new track, which takes the fast-becoming, played-out genre and pushes it to some new levels.

While there are those who who wonder if dubstep is becoming the new disco, if the truth were told and there were more groups like LIONS, maybe we’d get more than just a bunch of guys who want to sound like Skrillex…this wades in some more experimental, less retreaded waters.

Add in the fact that the song is accompanied by a kick-ass Asian horror short — done in a modern-yet-old school, Grindhouse style — that was produced by the band themselves, it all adds up to something even more awesome.

LIONS recently dropped their debut release entitled, the “Lions Tigers & Snares EP” consisting of 7 original tracks and available to download free.
